Lekcija 9 – Prilozi

U ovoj lekciji učimo kako u engleskom jeziku tvorimo priloge. Lekcija obrađuje temu na srednjoj razini.

Lesson 9 – Adverbs

In this lesson we’ll learn how adverbs are formed in English. The topic covered in the lesson is at intermediate level.

Prilozi se u engleskom jeziku tvore dodavanjem nastavka –ly pridjevima.

Adverbs in English are formed by adding -ly to adjectives.

dangerous – dangerously

effective – effectively

beautiful – beautifully

Ako pridjev završava na -le (npr. terrible), e se gubi i dodaje se y (terribly).

If the adjective ends with -le (e.g. terrible) remove e and add y (terribly).

Neki prilozi u engleskom jeziku imaju nepravilan oblik.

Some adverbs in English have irregular form.

fast – fast

good – well

hard – hard

ZAPAMTITE / REMEMBER!

Pridjevi koji završavaju na l (npr. wonderful), dobivaju dodatno l kod tvorbe priloga (wonderfully).

The adjectives that end with l (e.g. wonderful) will have double l as an adverb (wonderfully).

Osim nekih iznimaka (npr. shy – shyly), kod pridjeva koji završavaju na y (npr. easy), prilog se tvori tako da se y mijenja u i te se dodaje –ly (easily).

Apart from some exceptions (e.g. shy – shyly), when the adjective ends with y (e.g. easy) change the y to i and add –ly to form the adverb (easily).
